- Fuel receipt camera — On Android, scanning a fuel receipt opens Carspel’s in-app camera reliably (fixes OEM camera handoff failures on newer devices).
- Smarter receipt OCR — Better split of fuel cost, quantity, car-wash amount (with tax), and wash codes on common station layouts.
- Bill of sale polish — Clearer sale-price currency (e.g. CAD $), printed names under signature lines, support for multiple buyers/sellers, and the VIN on every page footer.
- Journey icon — Dashed roadway icon in the bottom navigation for a clearer Journey tab.
- Fuel log layout — Recent Fuel Records quantity column has more room on phone; odometer unit no longer crowds the table.
- Create a bill of sale — Generate a private-sale PDF from the car you already track: seller and buyer details, VIN, odometer, price, as-is terms, and signature lines. Built for common-law sales, saved with the vehicle, and ready to share or print. Not a government transfer form — and not legal advice.
- Sale paperwork stays with the car — The generated PDF lands in your sale documents next to any scan you already attached, so the ownership trail travels with the log when you archive history.
- Engine health check — On Android, read check-engine codes with a supported ELM327 adapter (we’ve tested Vgate iCar Pro 2S and Veepeak OBDCheck BLE). Explanations in English or French. 144 codes explained →
- Where did I park? — After Auto Trip, pin the last stop, walk back, and optionally share the spot with your household. Family, Ultimate, and the trial.
- Cross-border costs — When visiting another country, convert fuel, service, trip, and event amounts on save.
- Polish — Clearer garage limits on Family and Ultimate; custom trip addresses for Family; Auto Trip and landscape log improvements; more reliable Android cold start.

- Where did I park? — After Auto Trip, drop a pin at the last stop, walk back to the car, and optionally let household members find it. Family, Ultimate, and the trial.
- Cross-border costs — When you’re visiting another country, convert fuel, service, trip, and event amounts on save, with a clear visiting overlay.
- Custom trip addresses — Family plans can save and reuse their own trip addresses.
- Garage limits — Clearer Family and Ultimate garage caps on the plans surface.
- Polish — Auto Trip won’t re-offer a draft that only replays the end of a saved drive; fuel and service logs behave better in phone landscape; dash unit switch for cars that cross borders.
- Former household member — After someone leaves a shared household, an owner can share the usual vehicle-log link so they receive the full unmasked history, including trips and memories. The car lands in their garage; the original is archived.
- Inactive vehicles — Archive a car from vehicle details. Open, restore, or remove it permanently from Inactive vehicles on My Vehicles. Sale transfers still use Archive or Sold — not delete.
- Continue with Google — Sign in with your Google account on Android. Apple sign-in stays hidden until the App Store app ships.
- Charging receipts — Scan an EV or PHEV charging receipt to pull kWh and totals into the energy log.
- Bills of sale — Attach purchase or sale documents on the vehicle so the ownership paper trail stays with the log.
- Trip route maps — Journey and trip details can show a Google Map thumbnail of the recorded GPS path. Tap to enlarge. Transfers and archive are in the User Guide.
- Illustrative mileage allowances — When your profile is the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, or South Africa, Trip log summary can add a money column from published official tables. No table for that country, vehicle, or year? We leave the amount blank — we never invent a rate. Not tax advice. Export PDF or CSV and review it with your adviser. See how it works →
- One tap from Insights — On Family and Ultimate, the tax-year business-km card opens Trip log summary with that report ready. Household spend YTD stays on your cost view.
- Every country still gets a proper trip report — Categories, distances, purpose, odometer, tolls, parking, and VAT or GST travel with you even where we cannot yet attach a rate. Apply your own official figure in a spreadsheet if you need a money column. More published tables as demand grows.
- Cleaner exports — All categories on by default; tap one chip for a single-category slice. Australia and New Zealand show GST on trip tax fields. The United Kingdom, New Zealand, and South Africa price the allowance column on their official tax years.
- Desktop web menu — On a wide screen at app.carspel.ca, Home, Fuel, Service, and Trip log sit in a resizable left menu. Hide it when you want the page full-width.
- User Guide — Updated Trip log summary with a country-by-country allowance list, GST vs VAT labels, and how everyone else still reports.
- Insights — new Home tile on Family and Ultimate: household spend and maintenance observations calculated straight from your own fuel, service, and trip logs — no AI. See what needs attention first, where the money's going, and automatic month-over-month comparisons, including separate petrol/LPG and fuel/charge splits for bi-fuel and plug-in hybrid cars.
- LPG & bi-fuel fuel logging — dedicated Petrol fill / LPG fill toggle, separate economy tracking per fuel, and dual tank capacity fields for bi-fuel vehicles.
- VIN-first Add Vehicle — optional VIN decode and scan when adding a car, plus OCR VIN extraction from registration documents.
- Trip log — estimated trip operating cost from your fuel log, trip waypoints and linked incidents, and short text memories alongside photos and video.
- Service categories — a structured picker (Routine Maintenance, Brakes & Suspension, Tires & Wheels, and more) with optional subtype chips, replacing free-text Service Type.
- User Guide — new Insights walkthrough, a deeper Incidents & Events section, Service History report coverage, JSON backup restore, and a corrected Vehicle log transfers path (My Vehicle(s) → Vehicle log transfers).
- Car wash codes — track a wash access code separately from notes on a Car wash service entry, with a bell reminder that stays active until you mark the code used.
- Trip log summary PDF — odometer readings export as plain digits (like your dashboard); table headers repeat on every page of long exports.
- Add trip — after saving, a new Add trip opens clean: today's date, empty fields, start odometer from your last trip end — no stale live-trip draft.
- Add service — when a required field is missing, the form scrolls to it and shows a clear Required message on Save.
- User Guide — new Trip log summary section (Basic §9): filters, date ranges, and PDF/CSV options step by step.
