Import your history. Keep your story.

Carspel is built for the whole garage — not a single spreadsheet row. If you are leaving Fuelio, Drivvo, MileIQ, TripLog, or a similar app, you can bring structured vehicle, fuel/energy, and maintenance data with you. This page explains what imports today and how Carspel compares — honestly.

What you can import today

In the Carspel app, open Tools → Import data and upload a CSV or Excel (.csv, .xlsx, .xls) file. Choose the data type, map columns (automatic where possible), and import into a vehicle in your garage.

Carspel matches columns to its own fields. Unusual export formats may need manual column mapping. Duplicate rows (same date and odometer) are skipped. Trip history from mileage apps is not imported via this spreadsheet flow — log new trips in Carspel, or restore a full Carspel JSON backup if you have one.

How Carspel compares

Brand names below describe what each product is known for — not an endorsement. Carspel may be a good fit when you want one household garage with resale-ready history, not when you only need a single-purpose tool.

Fuelio & Drivvo

They focus on Strong fuel and maintenance trackers with long export histories.

Carspel adds Import fuel/energy and service CSV rows, then add household sharing, plug-in hybrid and EV charge logging, Journey timeline, Energy & cost summary reports, trip memories (Family+), and vehicle log transfer to a buyer.

Be aware Carspel requires a Carspel account and subscription tiers for some features — compare Play Store pricing in your country.

MileIQ & TripLog

They focus on Mileage and expense capture — MileIQ is known for automatic drive detection in the background.

Carspel adds Log business, personal, commute, and other trip categories yourself; export trip log PDF/CSV for your records; combine with fuel, energy, and service in one garage.

Carspel does not automatically detect or classify drives while you are on the road. If automatic mileage is your main requirement, keep a dedicated mileage app or compare carefully.

What every switcher gets

  • Mixed garage — petrol, diesel, electric, and plug-in hybrid on one subscription (Family / Ultimate).
  • PDF and CSV reports — including Energy & cost summary and tax-style trip logs (records only, not tax advice).
  • Safety recall alerts by VIN (where data is available).
  • Full data export from the app at any time.

Four steps to import

  1. Export a CSV or Excel file from your current app (fuel, maintenance, or vehicle list).
  2. Install Carspel and add the vehicle you are importing into.
  3. Open Tools → Import data, choose the file, pick the data type, and map columns.
  4. Review imported rows in the Fuel & energy log or Service log, then continue logging in Carspel.

Common questions

Will my Fuelio or Drivvo export work?

In most cases, yes — if the export includes dates, odometer readings, quantities, and costs in columns Carspel can map. Extremely custom spreadsheets may need manual mapping. Electric kWh rows should use quantity and cost columns; set the vehicle powertrain to Electric or Plug-in hybrid after import if needed.

Can I import my MileIQ trips?

Not through the spreadsheet importer. Carspel's CSV import covers vehicle profiles, fuel/energy fills, and maintenance — not third-party trip histories. You can start logging trips in Carspel going forward, or restore trips from a Carspel JSON backup file if you are moving from another Carspel account.

Does Carspel sync with my old app after import?

No. Import is a one-time copy into Carspel. After that, Carspel is the system of record for what you log here.
